Hey I'm brand new in here and also to Jeep's. Owned mine for 2 days now. It's an '03 liberty renegade, and is silver. The question I have is I plan on keeping suspension stock but would like a little beefier tire on it. I'm also keeping stock rims cause I like the look of them.

So how big can I go on stock rims without having tires rub? Thx in advance :)

Considering you stock suspension is shot
225/75 16's

Replace your suspension if you want beefier tires
245/75's on OE wheels
$600 or so for OME coils and shocks

As J said, 225-75-16 Goodyear DuraTrac's
225-75-16 / 235-70-16's (If you have 16's) BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2
225-75-16 Firestone Destination M/T,
225-75-16 Kumho Road Venture MT KL71
225-75-16Yokohama Geolandar M/T Plus

Those will fit your stock wheels (If you have 16's)

Thx!!!!! I do have 16's. But I also have 235's on it now, just some cheap cruddy half ass all terrain. Nexan is the brand. I will be putting BF mud terrains so I guess a 245 is out of the question eh? Thx again

I had 235-70's on mine as OEM tires. They fit fine...but you may be limited in tire selection at that size. I've seen 245-75's on unlifted Liberty's...but that all depends on how your stock suspension is holding up.

My suggestion is to go to a tire shop and see what they have, and ask if they'll test fit a 245 for you to see if it clears. Have them do both front tires, then drive around the parking lot doing full-lock turns, as well as try to go over some bumps or even turn in and out of a driveway (some have aprons and good bumps that give the suspension some flex).

If you're planning to offroad any, I'd be sure you put some bumpstops on first though, as you could tuck that tire in too high and start rubbing fenderwells.

Maybe I was to soft
Your suspension is SHOT
stock or not it 99.99% needs to be repaced
unless within the past 15k miles it got new
Factory coils and shocks
Because the usual life of the factory suspension
seems to be about 30-40k miles

If the tires still have some life then you need to get
over the fact that they don't LOOK like you want
and replace the worn suspension
If the tires are bad as well then you need to figure it
out as to how you can get the money for new shocks and
coils as well as 5 new tires
Because if you have 4wd and plans to use it you can not
have 1 tire be 2+" smaller than the others an 4wd

That's what I was thinkin!!! Lol whatever.;) my suspension has less than 4000km and not doing any gnarly off roading (crazy hills, rocks, logs, etc) I have a 400 acre ranch in with cut trails in bush and bumpy fields. In spring and fall it gets fairly soft so I want BF Mud Terrians, I had them on my F250 and they wear well and work GREAT!!! Just wondered about the 245's cause I thought I'd like to have them... That simple.... But since it's getting some people worked up, let's just say I figured it all out on my own and got 235's ;) lol

Thx for all input, glad to be aboard ;)
