ive got a homemade Frankie lift on my '04 Limited and 245/70/17 Pirelli ATRs.

I get only about 14-16mph in the city and 17-18 hwy (70mph). What gear ratio, brand and site does anyone recommend to get my mileage up to the 18-22 range i had before my lift and upgraded tires?

Other than purchasing the gears... what else is needed to complete the job right? and about what cost (for those of you who've made the upgrade)?

I just went through Jeepin By Al.
4:10 gears are the lowest ratio you can buy for a KJ's alloy Dana 30A. KK's you can go lower.
Spicer is the only company that makes a 4:10 gear set for the front.
$307.99 for the front.
$363.68 for the rear (Motive gear) I would of bought Spicer for the rear but were not
available at the time.
Rear diff gear sets are all within a few dollars of each other
I went with a Yukon master rebuild kit for the front ($231.78) and rear diffs.($143.99)
Parts alone= $1046.44
When re-gearing it's also a good idea to look at lockers seeing that the diff(s) are apart
anyway.

As far as installation, that all depends on the shop who does it or if you do it yourself.

I'll probably do the install myself. We've pulled XJ's and Chevy's apart but never the gears on the libby. SO the re-build kit is a must? I dont remember paying that much for the XJs or Chevy we did.

Um yeah a rebuild kit is a must
Well let's say this it is really not worth the chance
But if you have installed gears you should be able
to make that call

Hi all
My suggestion is that there are many companies for tires like Yokohama, Bridges tone, Piccalilli, these companies famous for tires and wheel.Yes, that is true, but you will loose pickup in the process. Unless you have a really long commute, the savings might not be worth the effort.

What??????:shrug::killit::happy175::whip::Bye:

how do u figure????? if i get 14.5 mpg (no matter how far i drive each day) getting 3-4 more mpg would save me around $500-550/year at the pump (@12000mi per year). not to mention increase the life of my drive train and reduce stress on my 103k mile engine.
