ome lift with stock 17's tire size

have a full ome lift on the way and looking to get a tire that will fit on the stock 17's. Looks like I have to go up to a 245/70-17 to get a decent tire choice, I searched and could not find much info on the 17's with that lift. Does anyone know if this will work on the ome lift without rubbing.

I also did order the 1/4 top plates and extra ISO just incase but would rather keep it as low as I can to run that tire size due to the wife driving it some.

A 245-70-17 is equal to a 32" tire.
There are a few good choices for tires in that size.
My favorite is the Goodyear M/T R Kevlar tires.

actually a 245/70/17 is equal to a 31"
245 (width) x .70(height) / 10(mm to cm conv) / 2.54(cm to inch conversion)
=245x.7/25.4 = 6.75 inches (per side wall)
you have 2 sidewalls plus a 17"wheel
6.75"x2+17"= 30.5"
Most tires in this size will range from 30.3 to 30.9" depending on the tread depth.

Back to the original question. I have this wheel size as well and ive run several different tires. Last week i put on the Perelli's so i dont konw how the tread will wear. Below are the tires ive ran and the score I'd give them. The score is based on tread life, off road traction, and aggressive look respectively.

Yokohama Geolander AT - 9, 7, 7
Toyo Open Country AT - 7, 8, 8
Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO - 9, 9, 9
Perelli Scorpion ATRs - ?, 9, 8

Goodyear MTRs are a great tire... so is the Dura Trac. That tire is just sexy looking (no jeep required)

thanks for the info, do you think I will need to add the top plate and rear iso for this size tire?

no extra rear iso's needed for these tires. but i couldnt get the camber all the way out on my alignment after i added extended UCAs, so i needed to add wheel spacers with my lift to get the alignment close.... you should be fine

They had no trouble getting my camber in spec with stock control arms.

i have heard both sides of the spectrum. some ppl have trouble but most dont. i guess it depends on the shop u take it too... i went to 3 before it was drivable. I beat it up a few weeks then took it back to my "new" guy. any shop relying on just the digital machine (it seems like most of them do) wont take the time out (or they dont know how) to get out the hammer and tape measure and do a 'manual' alignment. im pretty close to where i need to be now

The guy I took it to at Firestone spent about 1 hour 45 minutes to get it right. He told me he tried 3-4 different ways and ended up with about the same settings that Troy recommends.

What ??? Added wheel spacers to get the alignment right
Am I reading that correctly?? :shrug:

how do i get my hands on those reccomendations from this man they call troy?

Sounds like you need a good set of UCAs from jeepinbyal
I see you have the RRO ones :happy175:
also alignment is same as factory, can't get it right on but you can get it close
if you get toe and camber within specs you're in good shape
cross caster must not be any more than .5 degrees and must be at least 2-3 degrees
Camber must be set as close to the center specs as possible
You can scarifice some caster but again cross caster must be within 0.5 degrees
If you have a good alignment person they can get it right
When out of alignment it can sit the tire closer to the UCA as well
