my girlfriend was driving the CRD yesterday coming home from an hour and 15 min trip and in the last 15 mins of the trip the jeep shut off at 60mph and failed to start again. she called me explained the situation, and told her to pull the codes. it threw 12 codes... it was running a green diesel tune at the time however its now set back to stock.
i need help getting it back on the road.
its a 2006 libby limited crd
77k miles on it
the codes thrown were
P2295
P0091
P0047
P1251
P0670
P0560
P0489
P2141
B10b3
P0480
P0481

Check all the fuses, inside the cabin and under the hood and as stated check the battery and check that the alternator is charging.....not so easy when the Jeep wont start!

The circuit diagram for the 2006 CRD shows a "fusable link" in the wire that goes between the alternator and the battery....check for continuity of this link!

What happens when the ignition is turned ON? Any warning lights or "pinging"?

when the ignition is on, the check engine light is on and the oil light. nothing out of the ordinary... if you erase the codes they come right back.

i will def check all of that...

Sounds like you may have had the ECM out of the vehicle at least once. try inspecting and reseating the connectors.

Most of those codes refer to various solenoids shorting to ground:
--Fuel pressure solenoid
--Fuel quantity....
--Turboboost....
--O2 sensor
--Glowplug control

etc.

It would seem there is a major problem with the electrics going to the ECM.

I have seen posts on Lostjeeps that refer to there being a problem on the 2006 CRD, I think, where there is a potential short in the harness.

Apparently the Engineers at Jeep slightly moved the position of the fuel filter to make more space for the ABS pump. In doing this, they stretched the harness over an exposed metal bracket which would chaff through the harness.
I will see if I can find the links on Lostjeeps but in the meantime have a good look at the wiring around the fuel filter area to see if you can see any harness chaffing onto a metal bracket.
Otherwise have a look yourself in the CRD section of L.O.S.T Jeeps Offical Web Site - For Jeep Owners and see if you can find this problem mentioned there.

OK here is the original link below refering to the harness chaffing behind the fuel filter....there are many later posts refering to this same area of harness chafing specificaly for the 2006 CRD....it is worth looking at!

If you go to the CRD section at LOST, they'll tell you that it's due to the vehicle not having an elephant hose mod.

Hello. I had most of the codes showing on my Crd Kj when I changed the engine and harness over. I would check the gateway module, which is located under the battery tray. Check the plug and check the mounting bracket for corrosion. I had to clean up the plug contacts and make a new bracket for mine. I also noticed the earth/ground point bolted under the headlight was also showing signs of corrosion. So I have moved this to the new bracket and all the earth/ground points are together. Reset the fault codes and they havent returned.
Hope this helps.
