For all you guys out there, here's the latest on my Jeep Liberty Renegade - a freak of production - 541,000 km / 337,000 miles - never been towed!
For verification, see the odometer at "dicanns.com" My mechanic, who is a certified CAA towing guy, can verify I have never been towed! Did I mention Canadian winters here?

There are 5 components to this success...

1/ oil change each 3,000 miles (5,000 km) at Pennzoil 10 minute lube
2/ one driver - when I hear a noise or suspect a problem, I bring it in to have that checked - as recently as this past weekend, when I noticed a rise in coolant temp, and had to add water..I brought it in today, before I got stuck on the road! and I needed a new rad...4th rad in 10 years..3 driveshafts / otherwise, NOTHING!!!! original engine/****** never opened - incredible !!! I burn only 2 litres of oil every 5,000km....amazing after 540,000 km!!
3/ I have to give credit to my mechanic, Chiniara Auto, here in Montreal, who has really taken care each time I brought her in for a check up!!!
4/ For what it's worth, I use only Shell gas....regular octane!
5/ TLC A little TLC from time to time....I take the time...and she responds!
6/ Would be a great reality show! Follow me from week to week! When she bursts, she bursts!
Hey, Seabass..thanks for encouraging me to rejoin this thread!!!
all the best to everyone!!!! checkout the odometer and the contest at "dicanns.com"

Yes, Bugnout, drive it every day, from 600-1000 km per wk (400-600 miles) As an afterthought , considering our Canadian winters here, I do not garage the car - it stays outside all winter, and I do believe that that is a good thing as far as rust and corrosion goes, as there is very little rust, considering it is 10 years old and exposed to salt and winter conditions! (and maybe the natural climatization to the seasons, much like a dog shedding/growing fur)...who knows except that it worked in this case!!

I burn only 2 litres of oil every 5,000km....

is this a typo? Because that sounds like a whole lot of oil burnt every 3k miles. The 3.7 takes 5 quarts, and you're saying that roughly 2 quarts go missing every 3k miles (a quart and a liter are essentially the same)
