Well on my way to class this morning at 8:30am I was involved in an accident. I was traveling down a 4 lane highway at 45mph when I reached a stop light that was green I continued through it. When I got about 1/4 of the way into the intersection an on coming elderly woman waiting to turn left across my lane decided to go ahead and turn. Well first she hit my drive front wheel, continued to my driver door, the driver rear door, and then to the rear driver wheel. When she hit my driver rear wheel I had already floored the brakes and all of my momentum was headed to the front suspension rising the rear. When she hit my rear driver wheel the rear of my Jeep completely cleared the ground and swung the back of my Jeep in a complete 180 degrees. When I came back down to the ground the entire weight of the rear of the rig all landed on the passenger side rear tire popping it off of the rim. Also when she hit my rear wheel the extreme force completly ripped the driver side lower link out of the sub frame bracket. When the axle twisted it also pull the drive shaft out of the transfer case. I'm pretty sure the axle caused some major warping to the uni-body and will probably result in the totaling of my rig :( I posted pleanty of pics below. The side damage is bad but doesn't look that bad from the pics, but the majority of the damage is under the rearend.

Ohh man that *****! Sounds like you made it out alright, which is very good. I was just following you with the new tires and spacers. Damm it! Not sure what the insurance laws are in Arkansas, but hope you are covered. Will it be totaled out? Not sure how a unibody will hold up? If you are going to total it out pull the new tires off it and stick an old set on it. Good luck.

Damn! that *****. Like DejaVu. I got t boned in the rear passenger side wheel and it did the same thing to the drivetrain and axle. This was my '03. didn't total it back 5 years ago, but I didn't have much body damage either. Your axle shaft more than likely will be bent. The shop I went to said my ring gear was bent and it was replaced as well. I got hit at a 90 degree angle though. I'm glad you're alright. Make sure your neck is ok too, mine got messed up a little bit but I never noticed until later.

seeing the driveshaft on the ground gives me shivers.

That is very dangerous. If you feel any pain, call 911 and stay still. Side collisions are the most dangerous, and easily damage the cervical spinal section. There is a reason why they put neck braces on when you are in an accident. Use your judgement, even if you are fine, its always good to get checked out first. Sorry about the jeep, but most important is your safety.

I'm fine thanks everyone for your concern, I'm really not even sure my seatbelt locked up but I never really moved I had a death grip on the wheel and both feet on the brake! And even though stiffening up like that when hiting something isn't good I'm pretty positive I'm fine. They will most likely total it, but depending on what they offer it for I may buy it back and part it out because there are still A LOT of useable parts like a OME/BILSTEIN lift with less than 10k on it, brand new tires and spacers, 2 good wheels, full skids, lots of stuff. But I don't think I will fix it one because every since I wrecked the front last time it hasn't drivent he same and I'm sure with as big of a whack the back took today it's not straight anymore. But I'm thinking about going with a 07-09 JK Unlimited next!

Glad you're not injured! Definitely buy it back for the parts. Tires, lift, rack, remaining wheels, etc. is totally worth quite a bit.

Man...that stinks. Your pride and joy smashed. Hey, glad to hear you are all right. My advice from experience years ago...don't be in a hurry to sign off on the medical settlement. Neck and back injuries can take 6 mos or longer to show up. Make them pay for tearing up your wheels, hold off on the medical. JMHO.

Thanks everyone for your concern! I hate that its all messed up after I've finally got it where I wanted it but, I'm thinking I will build me up a mild JK next.

****** about your Rig Wes!
Stupid old people...
Look after yourself, injuries show up later and and eff up your future life...

I know, I was just about to get it finished the way I've always wanted it and the lady had to ruin it! I really believe I'm fine, I woke up this morning and didn't even feel sore. Bout the only problem I had from the wreck was that my ******** tried to eat my pants lol.

These things are like tanks. Glad your alright

I agree this is the second wreck mines been through and even though it got banged up both times I was fine and felt no indangerment from inside the cockpit.

As far as parting it out, I already told my girlfriend and a fellow member that lives here locally near me they could have first dibs on the parts if I buy it back to part out because that way I won't have to do as much shipping but whatever they pass on is definitely up for grabs if you pay shipping. Here is what I know already has dibs.

Tires - Me
Lift - GF, JBHARDWARE, theroofable
Hitch - GF
Skids - JBHARDWARE, cplchris
Roof Rack - Me, cplchris
All Lights - Me
Tail Light Guards - GF
Huksy Liners - GF
Seat Covers - GF

I will tell you all this much, the thing I will miss most about this KJ is this being my primary forum! I will stay in touch but it just wont be the same as it was. :(
