Vote for your favorite no-dry (or self-dry) car wash soaps, or let us know if they are gimmick.
The only gimmick I found was the Mr. Clean car wash, it made no difference, it was just easier to dispense the soap but it still required drying and it did not get rid of grime easily, you really had to scrub which I did not want to do.

I really like Surf City Garage wash. 5x concentrated, so a bottle will last...

When I wash it by hand, I use this. Just follow the instructions and use good microfiber towels and you'll need two buckets. Out of sunlight as well. Sometimes I'm too lazy and just go spray it down at the self-service car washes, but even when brushing it down or high pressure spray, doesn't get all the crap off.

Really gets the crap out that any automatic car wash can't and doesn't leave massive puddles where you're washing it.

With my buddy helping me, we clean the entire Jeep in 10 minutes, including dry.

Sounds like a internet forum phenomena, no commercials, no links anywhere, first time I heard of this brand, but the reviews at amazon are sparkling 5 stars. Dishwasher liquid also cleans the vehicle well and picks up all the dirt but it will wash your wax away with the dirt. I hope someone did enough tests with this..
Here is another review, sounds like it works.

I've been using it for 3 years now and various vehicles. My buddy also uses it when detailing (wash and lube for claybaring).

I use ArmorAll Car wash soap.http://www.armorall.com/products/view_product.php?product_id=15
Really thick Concentrate. I just apply light amount to sponge and it gets job done well.
It also rinses off, without streaking.
I found this summer when jeep was bug splattered, This soap worked excellent with warm water.
Been using this product for many years now.
