Hey guys,

I've got a wiring question. In the process of upgrading my lights, i came across some led strips, to do an Audi style DRL setup for pretty cheap. My question is how to wire them up (diagram) so that they come on with the parking lights, but OFF when the fogs come on. Is that possible? Too complicated? I mean i could just setup it up with a switch and have to remember when to turn it off. I liked having it wired with the parking lights so i dont forget to turn them off when i turn the rest of the lights off.

Here is a brief schematic I drew. Tap into the signal to the parking light relay and use that to trigger a normally open relay. This will only allow current to flow through it when the park lights are on. By having the current flow then flow through a normally closed relay triggered by the fogs, when they come on, the relay will open, killing power to the DRLs. Additionally, depending on the current draw, you could even use MOSFETs to save space. While this will work in theory, it needs to be well designed and looked at by someone with more knowledge in automotive wiring to make sure it won't burn up.
