Ok just finally brought my truck in after my frankenlift for new tires and obviously a well needed alignment. I told them I wanted 245/75/16. An hour later the lady called and told me I had a 17" rim, which was news to me. Did not know the limited came in that size. I got in the truck and heard some rubbing. When I got home I looked at the tire and they put on 265/70/17. I can live with the height but that width is gonna mess up my acceleration. Was rushing because they were closing, just called but of course no answer. What should I do here? I told them the 70/17 was ok but not the 265. Luckily, I ordered online, so I can prove that I wanted 245 tires.

The height is what's going to kill your acceleration, not the width!
265-70-17's tires are 31.9 inches tall!
Your only option if you keep the 265-70-17's are regearing to 4:10
final drive!
FYI, a 245-75-16 is 30.7 inches tall.
a 245-70-17 is 30.8" tall. (The closest to a 245-75-16)
And 245-75-17's are 31.7" tall.

I want the 245-70-17 correct? Don't really wanna change the rims out, nor am I ready to spend the $$$ on 4.10s. I hope the tire shop isn't going to be jerks about this. I asked for 245 and got 265. I did make the 17" mistake though. Have a printout from the schedule I made online, to prove it was my intent.

Show them your original order stating that you wanted 245's and not 265's.
Most companies these days make good on small problems.
Either way, they should of contacted you first before instlling them!
Oh they did just rushed communication with them. She called and said, "hey you have a 17" rim." I was really shocked and I'm like put the 17" ones on then. Then after thinking about it I called her back to make sure she wasn't putting on 75 still. She was like nah the guy said go with the 70. I was absolutely fine with that. Where the width was changed is the miscommunication. I like the place though. The kid did a very good alignment. These places just have people rushing thru customers though. I hate going when places are crowded. Something always gets messed up. Sorry to vent here. It's weird but I'm tired of driving my vette everyday and miss my liberty lol.
