Compared to my sedan with 3 way 6x9's and 3 way 4 inch tweeters, 75 watt Panasonic face plate head....the stock KJ radio/cd/ speaker sound real PP.

How many watts is the stock KJ unit?
The speakers if replaced all the way around in KJ does that greatly improve it?
Or am I better to simply just go to it and start over with new high watt radio/cd with USB in and look at getting some high end speakers in doors and dash.
Not real interested in sub at this time as most of my spaces under seats etc, I need for tools and crap.
Recommendations on products appreciated..X-Mas is coming soon.

Always loved alpine head units. Not a big fan of their 6.5" line though. I'm running stock speakers right now with an alpine hu and it doesn't sound 1/2 bad.

I have a Sony Xplod head unit with Rockford Fosgate speakers all around and I love the sound. There is a considerable difference between the Rockfords and stock. I added a 10" sub as well and the sound is great. Not over powering, but not whimpy.

I'm thinking about putting my system from my 86 mustang in the kj
Kenwood head unit
2 kenwood 6x9's
4 tweeters
2 12" subs 750w a piece
powered by a 2000w amp and the tweeters off a 500w 2 channel amp bridged and the 6x9's off the head unit all through a equalizer
subs and 6x9's would go in the back in a sealed box made to take up more than half the cargo space

Go to Crutchfield and punch in your jeeps info. They tell you everything that will fit to do a simple install yourself. I picked up an Alpine deck and four Polk audio speakers and Crutchfield included the adapter harness, antenna adapter, face plate adapter, and speaker mounts $440.00 tax in.

I have a Pioneer DEH6300UB Headunit (Love it) with 4 Pioneer speakers and stock tweeters. Best Buy did a great job of installing it. But of course, the new speakers always sound better than the 2 blown I had... But yeah. A new audio system is always nice...
