A little late, but welcome!

People say the same thing about the KJ that it's gutless, sluggish, etc.
I don't know why though, Jen and I find it goes just fine.

Your new Liberty is good choice :)
I don't understand what the sluggish part means. Not enough power, torque ??!! I am yet to be convinced by that.my 08 Liberty Sport has a healthy 3.7L V6 and produces just about same power as a Wrangler ! In fact it's better suited for towing because of it's wheelbase. And, with 210ft-lbs of torque and 3.73:1 gearing ratio this thing can pull,climb,water-forde & ofcourse ride thru snow.

It's only sluggish when the little old ladies in lab coats that work for Consumer Reports drive it. :)

Sorry but I feel that the Libby is very sluggish. Maybe its fine for city use but in the country where the speed limits are 55 mph and two lane highways with limited pass zones, this engine has a hard time filling a very tall order IMO.
