I may need a bigger car.

Or a wife that knows how to pack light.

We went to spend a couple of days at the cabin. Two people, two dogs, two inflatable kayaks, bedding, airbed, synthesizers, multi-track recorders, fishing gear, life jackets, food, clothes, rain gear, etc.

It's kind of amazing what creative packing can do!

haha......awesome packing job and nice pics.

I see you have a trailer hitch on the jeep so you just need a utility trailer for that stuff and then you will have more room for people and dogs in the jeep. No bigger vehicle needed.

No it's not! Ever see Ryan's jeep packed for a camping trip?

Where is he anyway? Wait until he sees this thread and puts up one of his jeep packing pics....:smokin:

Yeah, a roof rack is in the plan. The problem is budget right now. First I need the new springs/shocks, followed very soon with new tires and alignment.

Last weekend I installed the hitch. This morning it was the new radiator fan ( it arrived from Rock Auto early this morning ). But that swap took less than 2 minutes, if you don't count the time to walk over to the barn, open the doors, pull Nancy in and open the hood.

And the dogs fit on the wider side of the rear seat. They were crammed in pretty good but fortunately they don't fight when they're playing 'Dad!, He's touching me!'

I'll post my pic of Ryan's packed KJ.
Originally he had like 13 bundles of wood on the rear carrier, only lifted rigs can handle this kinda loads.
It took 3 hours to disassemble the entire camp Kitchen (literally) and all.
In the lock box up top it is amazing what he can stuff in there as well.
Soon Ryan may have his pop up tent trailer ready and put more stuff in there!40903[/ATTACH]"]

I pull a boat behind my rig where most of my camping gear is stored, but recently installed a Rola basket to carry even more stuff up top in preparation for this years upcoming trip.

I can't wait till I can afford a pop up camper! The wife and I usually have my Jeep packed up pretty well for our road trips, but always seems to have just enough space for everything.

Start with one of these, add some plywood, 2x4's for strength, add in some fiberglass to make it water tight (or creative use of cheap tarps and duct tape) and make your own uhaul cube.

bingo.

I love mine. the sheer quantity of "stuff" it's hauled over the 8 years I've owned it is just astounding. bicycles, motorcycles, computers, mulch, dirt, rocks, walkway pavers, jacuzzi tub, bathroom cabinets, tile, lumber (LOTS of lumber!), luggage, tons of car parts, furniture, etc. it really is a "utility" trailer. and to think I only paid $200 for mine. :D

Ditto.

Mine is 10 years old and has hauled a lot of stuff too and has paid for itself over and over. Better than a P/U truck and the bed tilts on mine too.
