Just noticed today while opening the back glass that there isn't
much clearance between the glass and spare tire when it opens.

What is the largest tire that can be installed without interfering
with the back glass?

Hey Mike,
A 245-75-16 fits without any problems on our Rig.
So for your's with 17 inch wheels, a 245-70-17 should
be no problems.(Even though your wheels are 7.5 inches
wide.)
You can always add a few washers behind the spare tire
studs to help space the tire out a little.

This just shows the difference from 1 to another
I could not open the glass with a 245/75 MTR (old style)
had to space it out as far as I could with washers and then it had only a few MM

IIRC, someone had posted that you could also remove the tire mount, rotate it 180 degrees, and re-mount it to the tailgate - whithout re-drilling anything. This was good for about 1"-2" of additional tire-to-glass clearance.

BTW, my 245-75-16 MTR's clear just fine. I beleive the difference in backspacing on the MOAB's makes it work.
