My 2002 Liberty Renegade , purchased in Aug. 2002, has been such a great vehicle. Last week, I hit 481,000 KM. The Liberty never failed me on the road (including the fact that I live in Montreal, where we get a lot of snow and cold weather). What a great ride it's been! Looking forward to keeping the record intact until I hit 500,000 KM. in March/April. I've used it for hauling tons of cargo over the years...even my flat tires were detected in my driveway! Engine / transmission have never been opened...regular fluid changes (5,000 KM for engine oil).....2 radiators changed at first signs of leaks...2 driveshafts changed after regular maintenance checks....otherwise....nothing special...Are there any other records of Liberty's with over 500,000 KM on them with such great reliability????

Babalooba, welcome to the forum from the province next door ;)

Good luck on your quest for 500,000, that is impressive! I'm just pushing 200,000 relatively trouble-free km on my '05.

I see the link you posted leads me to a Montreal restaurant chain, is this your business? I will be in Montreal for business in January so let me know where you're at and I'll try to stop in for a bite! :)

It proves that the Liberty is a great vehicle if it can stand Montreal's potholes and cement falling off bridges. No matter what, that is quite an accomplishment.

This is just so cool.

Congrats, you must take great care of your Jeep.

And LOL, because some people think KJs are only good to 100k!

Thanks Dave for posting the photo! We are closed until Jan.12 - I am at the store in Chomedey (normally). If you are around Laval after that date, let me know and I'll treat you to some burgers for lunch!

Congrats on the high mileage. Sounds like doing the routine maintenance pays off.

Dominic that is fantastic!
Have you had to change the wheel bearings, exhaust, bushings etc?
Run on 87 octane?, and throttle body work cleaning done?
Amazing...any u-joints replaced?
Was this mainly city driven or combination of highway as well?
Last question I forgot, was this run on dino or synthetic motor oil?

Bearings, exhaust, u-joints no.....Alternator changed a while back..oil was originally regular, changed to synthetic at about 200,000 and then to hi-mileage Pennzoil at about 300,000KM...., which I have been using ever since...yes, 87 Octane (Shell always) I use Lucas oil stabilizer from time to time (1 quart per 10,000 K) Mileage is about 50% highway and 50% city...has been that way from the beginning....I hope I make it to 500,000K without ever needing a tow!!! I ride around with that sticker on the back of the Liberty and get lots of reaction and thumbs up!!! Thanks to all of you for your input...... Dominic
