Thanks, yes thought so, I am planning to go for OME complete kit. I'm in the UK so will have to get in it shipped over. Although I need to get the Jeep first! I'm looking at some at the weekend - they are really good value over here at the moment. Then the work starts...

Bet if you look there are dealers in the UK or surrounding countries for ARB/OME won't have to pay as much shipping then

and yes those would destroy your UBJs and front shocks in no time

It is not who makes the lift kit of this variety or type...it is the variety or type that makes this lift bad news for our Jeeps. The design is inherently a bad design for the IFS system that the Libby has so it doesn't matter who the manufacturer or vendor is...they all damage the vehicle in relatively short time.

If your Liberty has 30000 plus miles on the odometer then your front coil springs are already worn out.
(Just go drive off road and nail a pot hole and you will feel what I mean! The front end bottoms out.)
Now add the "3 inch Steel Suspension Lift Kit" and bigger heavier tires. This increases the unsprung weight and will cause the front coil springs to bind even easier (Especially while driving off road or pot hole ridden pavement), causing more stress and damage to the front end of the vehicle.

This is why these types of "Inexpensive" suspension lifts are considered to be a poor choice.

Also, many KJ owners have tried these "Kits" and ultimately have switched over to proper, longer (and increased spring rate) front coil springs; as they make a day and night difference between the sagged and bagged stock coil springs and quality equipment!

Yes there have been some who have, if you would like to try a pair on the front let me know I have some ready to go.
How did I come by them? Well a long time ago there was a ARB bumper for sale outside of Chicago. I bought it for CHEAP since the guy installed it on his sons new Liberty. They had also installed one of the above "spacer" lifts, within 10,000 miles it had went through two upper ball joints and 3 shocks, also tore up one tire after they almost wrecked when the second UBJ failed and broke off.
They took the ARB off and the lift, installed all new front suspension, including new Renegade front flares ( not cheap) since the old ones were cut for the bumper.
I bought it and the guy told me to be sure not to lift mine :happy175:
he also gave me the lift, the front flares and some other things which I sold and pretty much paid for the bumper :icon_twisted:
So thats just one of many stories of why they are not recommended
We don't just tell people to buy OME springs for the heck of it, 8 years of experience with KJs has proven what works and what doesn't long term

I can't find any retailer in Europe selling the OME kit for Jeeps. Anyone got any info on this?

Meant to also ask - I have previously fitted lift kits to Toyota 4Runners (Surfs in UK), and I am guessing they are a pretty straight forward DIY job on the Liberty? Although the 4Runner was a simple replacement of the torsion bars up front, so I understand the front end of the Liberty is a bit more complicated. Any advice on DIY installation very welcome!

Bure aghali in Swahili = cheap is expensive

But yet some question us like no one else has ever checked out the cheap junk lifts , and we all just follow along like a lost herd of cattle only using OME springs :whip::whip::whip::whip::Bye:

It took me about a month of trawling over the internet to find them but they do OME lift kits for £723 inc Vat.
I was wanting to lift mine but my jetski decided to spend all my money instead, so having to go the cheap route for now and stick some standard diesel springs on my petrol and start saving again for a proper lift kit. Hey ho.
Speak to Chris there. He knows his stuff and sounds like a nice bloke.

Not to thread jack or start a beehive on spacer lifts but do OME springs give the same ball joint angle? If not can someone explain how they dont?

What do you mean ball joint angle?
All lifts will increase the angles of course

From this statement ^ you're saying that the spacer lift caused the ball joints to fail. I figured you meant because it caused the jeep to have bad balljoint angle. Why did the spacers cause the balljoints to go out?

Spacer lifts are just plain bad as to how they are constructed to begin with, if you do run them you need proper bumpstops which most fail to use. Also the stock springs are already sagging when most install them and the extra pressure tends to make the springs sag even faster, its a big merry go round that will get you in the end if you use them
