Well I talked to a very reputable guy today who works on jeeps over in Yonkers, and he seemed to know his shit very very well. He is going to do some research today and I am calling him back tonight to see what he says. Hopefully we can just do an engine swap for cheap. After wheeling with a guy in a bronco with a V8 I want to do that lol, it probably wont happen but, is it possible?

Sorry about your jeep, Andrew.

Just have another 3.7 put in. A v-8 swap would be nice but more mods to fit it and more $$ probably.

Just some thoughts.

Probably what I will do Dave. Although the mechanic says all the .7 litre engines from chrysler are garbage, for example the 2.7L engine and the 3.7L that the liberties have.
I just want to know all the possible engines than can fit/be compatible. If there is another engine we can find cheaper, that may be better than finding a new 3.7L. I am trying to keep this as cheap as possible as to justify keeping the liberty.

I know that the 4.7L PowerTech V8 is an easily available swap. Just curious if there is anything else.

That guy doesn't know what he is talking about. The 2.7L is garbage, but the 3.7L, 4.7L, and 5.7L are great engines. Maintenance is the key.

You are joking of course when you say that...right?
An easily available swap is to install another 3.7, anything else takes time and money
and to the so called mechanic that says all .7s are junk, I would run from him. I know of several over 150/175,000 and still running like new.
Go far away from anyone like him.
IF you think you really want to go and install a different engine, get a locked in price up front or you'll be screwed more than likely

X2. Just read the forums. People might have more or less trouble with many systems attached TO the 3.7 engine, but the engine itself is a good platform. As long as there's oil in it, that is.:smokin:
