How many encounter these gas stations that charge for "Air" Has this become the norm?(Aeh)
Luckily here they are few and far between, but 50 Cents to get some air in your tire, I felt like a hostage or something...
I was blown away, just paid $12 for a car wash ticket and needed the spare filled up....before the wash.
Screw that I am not paying. I resorted to having to break out the compressor....and filled it in front of the clerk and laughed at them!:D
I waived back after the wash with my middle finger!

Nah!
The guy's from Thailand and worse than a Jew!
He just takes the air hose inside and people have to ask to use it.
In a way it makes sense.
You get non paying customers coming into your gas station and using your air and the service station owner has to pay for the maintenance of the compressor, hose, chuck, etc.

I buy my cigars, lottery tickets, and other shit there everyday as well as gasoline once a week...

So I am special!:D

I have my compressor at home and a mini 12v for the road, I would love to get a better setup to keep in the Jeep though!

Everyplace around here charges 50-75 cents to use the air compressor. Actually I don't blame them. They have to buy the compressor etc, and maintain it, and pay for the power to run it, and fix it when some idiot abuses it. Too many idiots around. I don't blame them.

I actually have 3 compressors. An MV-50 and a Cambell Hausfield cordless in the jeep and another cordless one in the car. Anyway, I can check my pressure "cold" in the driveway. I check it about once a month or so.

all the major oil company stations around here charge, we do have a chain of convenience stores called WaWa, they have super WaWa's with gas pumps, they offer free air.

I have my own air compressor at home, and a little 12v for the Jeep, if I decide to keep this Liberty I'll be installing either an ARB, or Warn compressor under the hood.....

understood about the lack of not wanting to pay for something that is free, however the dispersal unit is not free, which is what your actually paying for the, the machine, and the power to run said machine.

The clerk behind the counter is just you or me doing his job, he doesn't own the place, he works there, giving him grief, finger etc, is unwarrented, i bet he probably had a bigger laugh at you, because if you get that mad over paying for .50 cents for something, i would hate to see how mad you would get for something that actually deserved such an emotional response. JMHO. maybe I'm getting older cause i don't see the reason behind any of it.

btw, have you ever bought a bottle of water??? just think about if for a sec

Wow. JO07 just put a hard dose of perspective in ThunderbirdJunkie's mind.

Don't ever do that before noon again, dude, or we'll send TO and OchoCinco to your house.

All the Shell's in Windsor switched over their machine in the last few weeks@#$!

Luckily it's free if you tell the clerk to turn it on, but the station nearest my house, the air and vacuum island is a good 500ft from the store, nothing like running back before time runs out, or driving back and hoping no one parks in that spot!

I think I'm going to hunt down a viair compressor that the low rider guys use, wire it up to the battery and install a normal quick disconnect for the air line, I don't mind popping the hood to air up.

Ohh and I don't mind paying a quarter, 50 cents in pushing it, but my big problem is I don't use cash anymore, any change I do have is already spoken for bye Tim Hortons!

It's a sad sign of the times my friend.

Most of the service stations in my area charge for air. Some "claim" the monies go to charities but I'm skeptical. Also very few of them offer full service gas.

The one gas station in my neighborhood that does offer full service gas and free air and gets a lot of business from people that don't want their hands smelling gassy.

I don't carry a compressor in my KJ but I have a small 110 VAC one in my garage.

Pretty much all the major players in Ottawa (with the exception of Shell), charge for Air. I know that before Sunoco was bought out by Petro Canada that they were donating the cash to a charity.
