How do you secure everything in there? Because a thief could just unzip the window? is there a lock you could buy for the window?or like put a some sort of lock on the zipper? I really want a soft top but the security issues scare me lol.

since nobody has responded yet, I'm forced to give my opinion on this subject.

if you don't have a garage, park it on top of your house.. ?

Mount automatic infared lifeform sensing turrets that shoot LAZARZ AND POOPS AT YUR FOES.

or, yea.. could get a hard top if you're worried about security.

Yeah you can't protect anything inside.
My buddy had locks on his windows, even though he lives in a decent neighborhood, and someone still cut it and took his cheap sub and amp, when parked 10 ft from his front door...

take the top completely off and crawl up the side of the Jeep, using the tire as a boost.

or- get a 4 door.

The fact that it is longer then a KJ? Any serious offroading is a nono..unless you put 35" on it.

That it has a minivan engine that makes a lot of noise but doesn't really do anything?

Nevermind, I am not a JK fan.

Keep the KJ as a DD, buy a TJ as a weekend toy.

I love the TJs
Just make sure that is not a 2.5L auto W/O overdrive ( I believe all 97-03s had the 3 speed autos that did not have overdrive) and don't turn the A/C on trying to merge on the highway..
I made that mistake :D
That thing was a dog....

Never driven a JK but I think they look good, not sure on the 3.8 motor though..

It had it's drawbacks for being longer, but it also had its advantages over the 2 door. the breakover angle may be less, but that's what skidplates are for, and it might take another one or two backup's to get it's fat ass around a tight corner, but people find solutions.

That it has a minivan engine that makes a lot of noise but doesn't really do anything?.

I've heard this alot, but I've yet to see any kind of engine failure. It hasn't stopped anyone from taking it off into the great beyond beyond either.

That it has wiring on the doors which you are supposed to be able to take out with no problem?.

Isn't it literally a plug that you just remove from the door? haven't really looked into that.

That it has no power mirrors?.

oh lordy- what will Jeeper's do without power mirrors.

That it has no comfort whatsoever?.

when is the last time you heard of someone going to buy any kind of Jeep because it's "comfortable".. the rubicon I test drove had very comfortable seats, and took bumps alot better than my KJ, but of course it was new, where as my KJ is sagging about an inch and a half and is almost 9 years old.

Nevermind, I am not a JK fan..

Keep the KJ as a DD, buy a TJ as a weekend toy.

I'd use one as a DD over my KJ, and plan too as soon as the funds permit. I'll let you know how it turns out.

keep in mind I'm not trying to start an argument, just defending a family member of the brand we all love :D

JK rides better, and seats are equal to the KJ if you ask me.

I have both a KJ and a JK... the seats in the JK are definitely more comfortable. The JK seat cushion is softer, longer and wider than the KJs making it a better seat for taller drivers.

How do you secure everything in there? Because a thief could just unzip the window?

As for security issues... Tuffy makes several different products. Check out their website....

One thing that I didn't like on the JK is the hard head rests.

You're right, it's like having a brick behind your head, but does not affect a comfortable ride unless your co-pilot wants to recline the seat and take a nap.

Overall, the JK is a more comfortable ride than the KJ and my old TJ.

Same thoughts here, though I enjoy the leather in the KJ, and the payed off ness comfort of it. :D

I'm pretty picky about head rests, I've been known to remove them for a long trip.

Get a hard top?

Don't keep anything of value in it...

I read the rest of the thread too, nothing worth quoting.

How come no one has suggested asking dudes on a JK forum?#-o
