hi tony m8, sorry about the time i taken to reply (bloody work).
I have a pressure gague i can put on the air con pipe above the rad' it's colour coded IE blue-ok, yellow-attention, red- oh sh#t etc
when i conect this it reads blue all the time (without the air con switched on) i can hear the compressor starting and stopping and the pressure gague jumps when this happens. When i switch the air con on nothing changes under the "hood" or in the cab.

many thanks

The pressure's are as follows
Green 0-25 psi-add refrigerant
Blue 25-45 psi- ok
Yellow 45-65 psi- may be overcharged
Red 65-200 psi may have mechanical problems.

mine is about 43ish psi when compresor is running and drop's to30 ish psi when not running.

if this helps.

Thanks for the reply Tony.
The switch is in the OFF posistion, and the compressor will still click in and out.
Asked the steelership about this last year and have a guess what they told me, "there's nothing wrong with it", "it's supposed to do that".(think i'll take my wellies next time)

Thank god it last steelership service next month, and i can drill holes in it aswell:D

I have posted a mod while ago but the pics are gone now... Probably nobody was checking them in a while... Anyway, A/C compressor is on in some of the outlet selector positions... Windshield is one of those...
