New shocks and struts needed...suggestions?

I'm really past due for new shocks and struts. Any suggestions? I was thinking of doing a 2" lift. I have 17 inch rims and don't know what size tires i could fit without rubbing....god i'm such a noob. should i replace ball joints? 125k miles and running strong....need input!

It's wild the info that you can get from this forum and LOST, go banana's man, there are lots of different opinions and suggestions out there. A butt-load of knowledge at your fingertips, ask questions and go from there. I'm in the same boat brother, just working my way up and gathering bits and pieces. Good luck!
