the rear upper arm comes w/bushings and balljoint installed. Alternatively, you can buy the bushings and balljoint separately, but you're paying about the same as you would for the whole upper arm

so it would just be a matter of jack er' up, remove a few bolts, take the arm out, put the new arm in, torque down, drop, done?

Its pretty easy to do. I have done three and it takes some time but nothing hard, Just unbolt everything and reinstall. One I had a time getting the bolt out of the rear ball joint , here it was bent from someone raunching on it. Yes it was a red KJ with 33 inch tires :(

Does anybody know anything about the "heavy duty" version? Moparpartsamerica.com shows one, and it is cheaper than the regular listing.

It takes about 2 minutes to find if that, I'll post a link but I don't know if it'll work given the way the site/catalog works, it appears to use expiring cookies for shopping and the link will probably expire.
Link
There are diagrams, as well, click 'view illustration'.
If the link does not work, click Jeep Parts, click Liberty, select 2002 for the year, click Rear Suspension, and click the 2nd link for Upper Control Arm. There are 3 listings, "ARM UPPER CONTROL" for $204, "Upper control arm, liberty, standard suspension, dana axle" for $188, and "Upper control arm, liberty, heavy duty" for $193.

My browser was definitely not showing your recent post/link, have to have cookies on.
Anyways your link now works and I can see the 3 models, they all look the same, have no idea what heavy duty means ..LOL, but just get it..reasonably priced, morris is like $156 but no sure on quality comparisons. I would also be tempted by Mopar not cheap knock off.

Pretty sure it is the same picture used for each part, which is why I'm asking if anybody knows the difference ;) Maybe I will call and find out if they can tell me the difference, was just hoping someone here might know.

Did you happen to find out the difference between these 3 rear upper control arms? I sent them an email and asked em.

trying not to start a new thread, so I changed the first post in here to reflect my issue.

where can I get a NEW rear upper control arm. I do not want a salvaged / used / scraped / well taken care of / almost new / incomplete rear upper control arm.

I'd like to get the entire arm brand new with bushings and ball joint installed.
