OK a little prologue :)

When I moved to the country and bought my KJ I was determined never to have to shovel my driveway again. It has worked flawlessly so far. Right now we have about 2 ft of snow covering a rutted ice layer. Basically don't come to my house if you don't have 4WD or some extra time to kill. :D

Yesterday some dudes show up to install some giant mirrors in the bathrooms. Needless to say before I could get out to warn them to stay in the ruts and not to try and turn around ... they get stuck.

Now that I think about it I have inadvertently created my own little vehicle trap so that I can practice my extrication skills :D

Long story shorter ... I pulled a 7000+ lb Chevy 1500 cargo van full of tools and a half dozen mirrors on the side out of it's ruts off the side of the driveway and all the way back out the 200ft to the road. Needless to say the installers were extremely happy and a little shocked that this tiny little Jeep just pulled their pig out.

Sorry no pics ... but my photographer/wife had the morning off :D

My KJ has impressed me again!

HAHA thats a good story, I love when its a project to just get into the driveway. My driveway has about a 20ft steep incline. Needless to say I get up no problem but the CRV and Avalon have issuesss.

:D .. Wow I don't have that kind of incline to battle, but it is always fun gettin' home :)

Cool story Luke but you know the forum rules. It's only a story unless you post pics :)

JK

... lol .. I know pretty weak huh? .. I did take the time to link the smallest pic in the world of a GMC 1500 :D I could take some pics of the aftermath ..lol

P.S. I couldn't help but notice shades of TBJ in that snarky response ;)

Well, after they were extremely angry that they got stuck because you didn't shovel! ;)

Actually, the first thing I did was apologize for not shoveling, but he quite honestly responded "Well I didn't need to pull forward into 2 feet of snow with all season tires either ...lol".

I'm just gonna get a big sign to match the one at the end of my street ....

That's great. It is amazing what the little kj can do. I pulled my brother out of some slick mud (clay/sand/dirt) that he was basically resting on his pumpkins (99 ram 2500 diesel 4x4 ~7,000#) and the little kj pulled him out in 4lo with very little throttle and no wheelspin with the goodyear mtrs at 25psi. Everyone watching commented how they were amazed "the little Jeep" was able to do it so effortlessly, let alone at all.

Dude, you can make an orange cape for your KJ to match your hooks and use it to help your neighbors out of their driveways :)

Nice Luke. Another "notch" for your towhook....:D

By the way, your sign should say "Jeeps Only Beyond This Point, All Others will be winched/and Strapped Out At Owners Expense"..........haha

Luke, you know that if you dont shovel your driveway and the electricity company guy that reads your electric gauge gets hurt or simply judge he cant easily make it to the thing, they can actually cutoff your electricity or charge you a penalty ...

Fun story thought !! Just make sure the guy can make it up to the thing or itll cost you extra, i've seen it in my town here...

Well that blows ... If the township can relinquish all responsibility with a sign (like the one on my street) then I should be able to. ;o)

I still hold fast .. I will not shovel! next year I'll get a snow blower

since this thread is up already..

My little KJ yanked my moms 04' Dodge Durango up and over a fairly steep incline at my sisters friends house this morning.. she was backing around the driveway and ended up ass first down a hill- just got through raining and she buried it, only 2WD.

she calls me and I'm dead asleep, so I waller out of bed and head over to my brothers truck with a 10 foot chain, mosey over to my systers friends house, hook on to her, latch it around my brand new freshly installed hooks (WHICH HELD BY THE WAY!! WOOT!) and at first I tried in 2WD, spun- 4LO, tapped the throttle and the ass end of the durango lifted up about 3 inches and I dragged her up the incline.. didn't spin a bit.

not sure how much a durango weighs, but the Jeep didn't even hesitate.

and that's how my first recovery went- I was pleased.
