Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Yep,not a real big one(450watt),mounted on the side of my sub box in the back and use the rear outlet to power it.Just big enough to power my battery charger for my cordless SnapOn impact.

Do you have any pics of the setup by chance? I am looking to mount one in the rear of my jeep.

It really wouldn't be that hard to install it into the driver's side plastic in the cargo area. That way you still have the dandy net on the right and it's got plenty of room inside.

I am planning on installing it on the top of the passenger side rear cargo area, right below the window. I will need to change the location of my flashlight mount, which is easy enough, but then the inverter will be right where I need it most, closest to the thing I will be plugging into it. The driver side is still an option if the pass side doesn't have enough room. On the pass side it would be up and out of the way more since on the driver side my fire extinguisher is below the window and I prefer not to move it though.

i would think that somewhere in the middle would be best... that way one could use it anywhere in the KJ...
Or just leave it unmounted like mine so you can use it anywhere.

I think when INC goes to the mall, hits a curb,he would like inventer to be where he left it ,not under a bunch of groceries.

There's enough room on the passenger side for a big-ish inverter? Neat. Perhaps should mount the subwoofer amp in there.

How 'bout mounting it inside the side panel something like how he mounted his in the console? You could hardwire it to the accessory plug on the inside and use an inline fuse. That Black and Decker that he used is less than 50 bucks at Target.

I use a 90w Targus unit that I use to charge everything off the rear power (cigarette lighter) outlet. It has a HD coiled wire and plug. It's worked for everything I need. Charged laptop, metal detector, spare cell phone battery, cameras.
