Hellew..

I'm Josh, and I've been trying for about 3 months to become a member over at lostkjs.com, but it seems that I'm either not wanted over there, or someone hasn't/doesn't like checking their email LOL.. so by mistake, I came across this website and instantly registered.

I previously had a 99' Oldsmobile Alero, which was awful.. It got to the point where I really didn't want to drive it, it got so old, nothing worked in it.. it had power EVERYTHING, but only the power seat functioned.. windows, mirrors, locks, even the A/C didn't work.. so I traded that piece of scrap in.

and now, I'm the proud owner of a black 2002 Liberty Sport 4x4, and as stock as it is, it is a monster off road. And by stock, I mean it doesn't even have tow hooks or a hitch.

It's also got some of the worst shoes I've ever seen on a vehicle.. It's got some wierd michelins on the front, a goodyear wrangler SR-A on the rear passenger side, and some highway tire on the rear driver side.. which is embarrassing, and all of which are nearly bald.

My first step to making my Jeep more off-road worthy is to get it some new tires, or a 2" lift and some bigger tires, or.. funds permitting, get hooks, hitch, lift, 245/75/16's, and skid plates all at or around the same time.

I'll get some pictures put up here in an hour or so. Hopefully I can learn alot from this place!

Pictures! -------

Here's when I first got it, what a change going from a lowered sports sedan to a Jeep.. A change I LOVED.

And here's after my first off road experiance..

(Note to self, ROLL THE WINDOWS UP before attempting this)

I think I might need some better tires and perhaps a small lift / bigger tires before I tackle a trail with other Jeeps LOL, I'd hate to embarrass myself.. I'm still learning what I can and can't run over, I LOVE climbing really steep hills though, and as crappy as my tires are, I haven't found a hill yet I couldn't climb!

Rocks always scare me.. I have this fear of crawling over this rock that's pointy enough to stab straight through my tire.. so I try to go extremely slow over rocks, big or small.

sounds fun though! I'll keep you guys updated on the mods and stuff :D

Definitely got to dump those crappy tires ASAP... Don't want to get into winter weather with bald/crappy tires!

This will be my first winter with my KJ also. I managed to get a new set of tires on it along with a bunch of other goodies this summer while i had plenty of odd jobs to make money off of.

I hate how people always seem to cheap out on tires, i'm not saying you are i'm saying the previous owner of that KJ. I see cars and trucks like this all the time, one tire gets a hole in it and they slap on whatever they can find. Mismatched tread and wear can be really bad.

speaking of skimping.. the spare I was toating around on the back was pretty much useless, it looks as though the previous owner slapped a curb, the wheel is bent and the tire has a hole in the sidewall, plus it's bald. So I took the spare off and the mount that was supporting it, so now theres just 4 long bolts poking out the back of the Jeep.. I need to get a tire on there.

I was looking into some wheels from quadratec, they got a pretty good selection of wheels over there, and the wheels I was looking at are going for $62 a piece, with $11 shipping per wheel- 16x7 / 5 on 4.5, and 4" backspacing I think, I'll have to look.

get some of those, a 2" lift, stuff some 245/75/16's on there if they'll fit (i'll make em fit lol) skid plates, recovery points, extended bump stops, and a bad ass tow strap, and hopefully I'll be good to go. perhaps some rock rails-

someone recommend me some "man tires" lol3.gif

Cooper Discoverer S/T's, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs are good if you are concerned with street manners.

31x1150-16 Interco boggers would be the way to roll if you are not.

to ensure easy acc reg, make sure you include relevent JEEP specific info, if there is not your reg app can get deleted when you go through a couple of hundred new user apps a night and 99% of them are spam the occasional legit app gets deleted due to lack of info
