Adding fuel additives every tank full beyond what is already in the gas will kill your O2 sensors and cats, both are not cheap.

x2. I used a bottle of injector cleaner at 50,000 miles, then another one at 70,000. However, I have to admit I noticed no performance gains or general smoother running. I'm reluctant to use fuel additives often because as tj says, you're going to toast your 02 sensors if you use them regularly.

I haven't noticed a dang difference between different fuels and gas stations either. Where's the "I don't care?" choice? lol3.gif

I notice a difference in Sam's Club gas. Always makes the KJ and Durango run rough. I like Race Track because 1. On the way to work 2. Best price 3. Good gas 4. clean 5. friendly.

Hess is fine also....

I go with Shell since our company UAP/NAPA/Traction are selling shell and i run the delivery truck and have no choice but to get gas only at Shell (commercial deals). Its ok because it get my girlfriend a lot of Air Miles points as she also does her grocery where it gets her Air Miles points...

By the way, Pennzoil and Quaker are both made by Shell Factories .... So shell knows how they make it i guess ...

I used to use Shell, but recently i've been using Speedway/Super America all the time and i've been getting around 375 miles to a tank. I was at 320ish with Shell.

It really doesn't matter, there fuel is all from the same place anyways with just a few chemicals added for each brand name. Also how old the gas station is and how they maintain there tanks plays a major role also.
To me, it does matter. I find a good gas station and stick with it. A few of the local gas stations have horrible gas and one is brand new. I always get lower mileage with them.

I have a BP at the end of my road that my cars have always ran well on. If I need to fill up after work, There is a brand new (2 years old) Shell station close to work. My cars have always ran well ont their gas also.

It isn't so much the name brand as the actual gas station.

I filled up with 89 last night and my tank was almost empty i picked up 17.459 gallons minus the cup full that always runs down my paint. This morning i got in and it started easier and ran better drove smoother i was surprised because its still chilly in CT.

That's what I think....if the pipes and such are in bad shape, the gas get contaminated....and the other way around.

i dont really care as long as its cheap and close by or on the way to wherever i am going im gonna get it. to me gas is gas. i dont really believe all the crap that shell says on tv. they just say that so u would pay the extra 10 cents a gallon to buy it. and i know that for a fact because i used the "nitrogen enriched" gas at a new shell station that opened up by my house for a week and i didnt really notice a difference. with gas prices back up to 2 bucks a gallon here in jersey im gonna stick to the cheapest gas i can find which is usually delta or sunoco.

Nitrogen?? How much more Nitrogen do you need? The air you ram into the intake has 79% Nitrogen as it is.....:p

I'm not a chemist, but seeing as nitrogen oxides are a by-product of combustion, along with CO & HC, wouldn't adding Nitrogen to the fuel increase these NOx emissions?
Perhaps some one with some CHEM background can shed some light for me as I remain blind. Thanks

BTW, I like BP gas.

I already stated that.
I know, but you started off by saying that it doesn't matter.

I'm just saying that to me, it does matter.

I was also agreeing with your point that it is mostly about the gas station and not the brand of gas.

It is an opinion poll. I was just voicing my opinion.lol I can't say something I think just because you already said it?
