Ok so a buddy and I installed a light bar on my Jeep a few weeks ago. It wasnt that bad, just time consuming. Anyways, it was all well and good until today when I pull in the car wash to get some salt off the KJ when I saw that the passenger side of the bar was not flush with the roof! There was a half in or so gap under it and i saw that one of the mounting screws were coming out of the roof! I havnt noticed any leaking yet but Im guessing this will cause a leak in the near future. Any sugestings? Should I just silicon the entire area and let it go? Anyone have this happen to them?

Yeah i think the whole nutsert has pulled out. Im guessing I have to take the whole unit off and put some silicone in the hole and then reinstall the nutsert. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there something better than silicone to seal and hold it into place? Thanks.

Did you drill too large for the nutzert? I wouldn't just silicone; that's a band-aid.

Try to reseat the nutzert and install the bar again. If you can't get it to bite and hold really good, I'd consider using a bolt/nut with a washer and some o-rings or other rubber seals to make it weatherproof.

if the nutzerts pulled loose, drill a somewhat bigger hole and put in bigger nutzerts with bigger bolts, which may require widening the holes on the lightbar itself. this will definitely be a good solution, but make sure to silicon the holes well. however, i wouldnt suggest siliconing the entire lightbar, only the holes where open sheet metal is exposed as that will obviously cause rust. never worry about water seeping under the lightbar, as long as it cannot access any sheet metal or wiring.
