Does anyone bring their dogs in the kj? Do you have any tips for keeping the dogs from making messes on your carpet and seats?

Yeah, thanks. Marlon your response made me realize i probably won't do it very often. i'm too busy driving and other stuff to worry about entertaining a dog also. I just thought it would be good for the dog to get out. But he'll likely be all couped up in the back anyway since i don't want him near my photo equipment.

If you have a floor mat in the back thats about all you need as far as messes go, but you could also cover the seat.

As far as pet gates go, I made one for $15 in about 10 minutes.

I don't do it often either, he's way too hyper and it's hard to keep him still. It's more of a distraction, actually. The back isn't the best place because it gives them enough room to make their mess on your carpet.

my dog sheds all over the place. he goes from window to window even if they are up. i find his hair everywhere when he gets out. even with a seat cover the headboard is being assaulted by flying white hairs

My pit rides in the backseat often. I have a blanket over it, works pretty good but fur does stick to the back of the seat. I'd recommend you prop a blanket up through the headrests to hold it over the whole seat.

Other than that she smudges up both back windows pretty bad...

I usually fold the seats down and let my dog ride anywhere in the back she wants. To keep from making a mess i'll throw a couple of her blankets down on the floor and backs of the seats.

Half the time she's got her front paws standing up on the center console watchin what i'm watchin. Sometimes she even comes up to the front seat and rides shotgun......and this is a 55lb boxer mix :)

Well, I have 2 lab/golden retriever mix dogs. Both big ones and they go with me daily. I always had dog hair all over the seats until I got these: Seat Cover Thread on LOST. They still shed, but a quick wipe down with a wet towel, and they are good as new. They are well worth the cost!

My border collies ride in the back all the time on the seats. We made a fleece blanket that covers the entire rear seat, with elastic loops on the top that loop around the head rests. Works really well, I just make sure to wash the blanket once a week to keep the hair under control. The nose prints.....are another story...

My sons border collie does not leave nose prints, but does leave couriousity marks. She did however manage to eat a seat belt buckle.
