The warranty issue is due to the fact that I exported the vehicle to Canada and Chrysler will not honour the warranty on this side of the border, or in the US since it is now a Canadian vehicle. Bunch of bull****, but that's the way it is.
it might be worth taking it across the border if it is the following tsb (which i hear applies to the 2007's) it costs 2000grand to have it done.

as one of your valve is failing to rotate it is producing your hard missfire. once it rotates the blinking cel is cleared. just fyi

It still won't work because it is now a gray market vehicle. And considering it is now a Canadian vehicle... no warranty coverage in the US either.

Yep, it's a bummer, but I really appreciate the info. When the mechanics had it on the road last week hooked up to the scanner, they couldn't find anything misfiring. I haven't had any problems with it so far this week that I'm aware of. I'm planning on going on a camping trip about 6 hours drive away this weekend, and will do some mild off-roading while I'm there. This is probably a naive question but should I be concerned about doing any damage to the vehicle if the engine seems to be working normally?

Well you have 2 head gaskets if it's a 3.7.. if your oil doesn't have a whitish look to it then it ain't no head gasket issue. I would start by pulling the rocker covers on both heads, replacing rockers and lifters after flushing and blowiing out head lash ports...... if still spitts rockers then maybe a head removal and that's alot of work..
Prob pull motor If it's truly a gasket issue.
Do a pressure test on each cylinder first. Auto stores have the guage tool.
Manual will tell what your compression will be tdc..
I know. It's a pain. Chrysler pains.
