Sorry if this is a repeat question. I did a search and couldn't come up with anything.

I now have some nice big red smudges on the taupe leather of the passenger seat on my '07. Was out geocaching in the rain yesterday and didn't realize that the laminated map I was using had some routes marked out in red Sharpie. Well, the map got wet and the ink is now on my seat.

I've googled different methods of removing ink, but not sure I trust what some people are saying worked for them. Does anyone here have any recommendations for products or methods to remove the stains? Thanks!

find carpet cleaners that say they can get marker out. i think resolve should get it. if not you may have to test kitchen cleaners

oh
whatever you do, work quick, the longer it sits, the worse it is to get out.

resolve is usually pretty good, turtle wax also has a deep cleaner

Try "Magic Eraser".......it might work and it won't harm the leather.

Do it ASAP. Don't let it sit on there a long time.

Then get a couple of cheap seat covers and throw them on whenever you are getting into mud, grease, grime, doing an oil change, etc. When you're done take them off.......works for me.

Thank you all for the responses. Due to the warnings that I should take care of it as quickly as possible, I decided to take it to a detailer and get it taken care of that way rather than experimenting. They were able to remove it for me for a small fee. I will keep your suggestions in mind for the next time.

Dave, you've got me shopping for seat covers right now. Great idea! Thanks!

You can try hairspray, or better yet try Everclear 190proof. I know for a fact this will remove a puddle of dried permanent ink from a deep grained computer desk. It took it off instantly! I think the seats would be no different.

kinda makes you wonder what it does to the liver..lol.
