I'm a vintage racecar guy and am not familiar with 21st century whizbang electrical components. I have been trying to disconnect the viscous heater power supply on our 2005 CRD, but am apparently too stupid to figure out how to release the connector. It looks like it has a simple enough orange colored plastic "lock" that slides, but after "releasing" it and applying more force than I would think the part could stand w/o breaking, the "halves" are still firmly connected.

Can anyone possibly post a picture and show me the error of my ways?

Thanks,

I think there should be another tab somewhere on one of the halves that needs to be pressed in before you can separate the two parts.

CRD Mileage Drop

Removing the VH relay from the fuse box is definitely the way to go. No codes appear to have been set and we got an instant 4-6 MPG improvement.

Grill blanket just arrived. Have to see how it works out.
