Have you upgraded your brakes?

It's time to replace the front pads and rotors (warped) on my '02 4wd. Could I have some feedback from those who have upgraded their brakes and what modifications you have made? Yes, I could replace the pads and rotors with NAPA or PEP Boy parts, but I would also like to hear from those who are happy (or unhappy) with the changes they made. Thanks.

I have EBC green stuff front pads with advance auto parts rotors, rears are stock/original shoes and drums. Works well for me.

Last week I popped the front and rear wheels off and had a look at the rotors and pads/shoes to inspect them my self and found them to be in good condition with at least 60% remaining.
(The Jeep dealer told my wife that there was only 15% remaining in the front and 10% in the rear!)
I figure in the spring that I will replace the front rotors/pads and machine the rear rotors/pads and the parking brake brake shoes.

Yea, they probably say that to everyone that comes in socks, just to make some money. Burns me up too.

I had a friend in high school that took his car in for something or other....

Mechanic - "You know, your brakes are shot, those things are like razors..."
Friend - "Put them back on, I'll shave with them tomorrow morning then!"


Total crap, his brakes were fine.

I just replaced rotors and pads on my 2002

rotors: raybestos
pads: Bosch
