I purchased about 4 months ago, the standard black rock crawler steel wheels for my liberty. (16x7) Well I noticed that the inner diameter of the wheel(hub), doesn't rest on the hub of the vehicle. I have about a 1/4" gap all the way around the hub! Is this a safety concern? The guy at 4wheel parts here in Denver said it was ok, as long as I used the proper lug nuts and the wheels were torqued to specs.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

You'll be fine, mine are the same way and have not had any problems over the last 40,000 miles running them. Most after market rims are not "hub centric" and that just means that the wheel studs and lugs nuts to center the wheel instead of the "hub".
