I am wondering if anyone with a 2005 KJ is having or has had a problem when putting their jeep in reverse. Sometimes when I put the car in reverse the car bucks back and forth. I've brought it to Chrysler service and they can not find anything wrong with it, yet it keeps happening to me. I think it is the transmission and told them so last time I brought the car in Sept. 13th. They insist there is nothing wrong. Can someone help me figure this out?

Mine does the same thing, but it also does it when I go into drive, I would not worry about it

I've been told, here in Italy, that it's normal having the KJ jump like a frog when you shift in and out R, N, D, becouse it's a Hydraulic automatic transmission.

Libertyman, I can't believe you are saying not to worry about it. I am so scared that something bad will happen to my transmission because of the bucking but I really need this car to last me a long time. I will take your advice and thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate it.

You are the second person who is experiencing the same thing as I am. It is comforting to know that I am not alone. I will keep my eye on it. Thank you so much for your input.

The Jeep is a different beast in its own compared to all the other "small utes" in it's class. It's built more along the lines of a truck than it's competitors....so it's going to clunk, jerk, shake, and make all kinds of funny noises.....but it's just a Jeep thing, so not to worry.

I would worry however, if it becomes very obvious that something is wrong (i.e. slamming into gear, whiplash like shifts...etc etc)

Is it also normal and "trucky" to have the bottom of a 3 months old Liberty with 1600 Km (900 Mil) never touched by salty water....FULL OF RUST ?!?!?

:D

It's just surface rust, and yes it is....mines been that way for quite some time, even had salt from winter roads on it...no issues.
