Ryan, I used to be like that too, I had that switch board physics kit, or whatever it was called. It was my favorite thing, I used to push away toys and play with that for hours.. transistor, resistors, switches, buttons...

Anyway, You mentioned the photosensitive switch, why? If that's for the storage case, it will be dark when you close it..

I like the idea of lights there, though.

Good day,

The photosensitive switch would be used so that the light wouldn't come on
during day light hours. Saving battery usage.
An additional techno Weinnie feature! :)

Good day,

Riptricket, Did you come up with a solution for protecting your axe handle?
If not, may I make a suggestion?
Get some windshield washer rubber tubing, slit it with a razor knife so that you can slip it around the edge of your custom hardware, then go to an electrical supply company and purchase some shrink tubing that will fit over the bracket and the rubber tubing. Finally, heat with a heat gun until it shrinks snug around the bracket.

Or you could also get ahold of some "Plasti-dip" when used correctly it will create a rubber coating. Just like on a pair of pliers from say "Craftsman".

Just a thought.

Cheers

Ry'
