Any drawbacks to 2.5" coil lift?

Besides the obvious increased rollover issues? Not much. You might get a rattle from the rear end if you don't tighten the shock bolts enough.

I still think the "rollover risk" isn't increased much, if any, with Rusty's kit. But, as I've said before, I'm not in any hurry. My ride definitely feels more stable than when I bought it but, it was used so maybe my shocks and struts were already failing. only had 21,000m on it but, it also had two nice little dents in the ****** cross-member that I didn't notice until I decided to do some light off-roading one day.

You might want to do some investagation on lifting due to the ESP system. A member on L.O.S.T. KJ's had problems on his 06 with ESP after putting on a FrankinLift W/32's, removed the lift, tires and traded it in on a JK.

Thanks for the replies, guys. What is ESP?

It is a sports channel on Cable. The newer KJs with the TV option have cable with ESP. Problem is when you lift it the reception gets worse.

Really it is a fancy type of traction control where the ABS sensors are used to apply braking to wheels without traction and the accelerater is limited if the car is slipping. It also applies the brakes if you are going to fast in a turn and there is a roll-over risk. It is on '06 and up KJs. Also the new JKs I think too.

Maybe if you put that truspeed thing by superlift on it would help with the esp problem. Then the computer would know how fast the wheels are really going. I know that your abs needs to know the correct info on wheel velocities.

As far as the ESP, does it only account for wheel speed or did the engineers also account for center of gravity of the vehicle when they wrote the softwear?

If they are entering CG into the equation I see a problem ahead for lifting newer vehicles :(

I hear if you have the new JK rubicons they can be recalibrated by the stealership. Cost 75 bucks, big suprise huh?? Only Rubicons though. You can get a truspeed for about 200 bucks.

Think I am going to get a truspeed on mine after I get my 245/75's on.

The majority of people with 06+ KJs that hate ESP are those with manual trannies. If you have an auto, you will be fine. I love my lift AND the ESP/Traction Control.

Are you talking about Moose?

Couple of things to add to that. He had a manual and it did it when it was stock. He added the lift and tires, got sick of almost getting killed when pulling out and the traction control slowing him down, so he took all the stuff back off and returned it to stock. He let the dealer have their fun with it and after them not fixing it, he traded it in on an 06 TJ unlimited. :)
