Mine is about $48 here in NJ, good for 1 year. I get to pay OTA in property taxes though.

$90 for me Marlon. But I was late a few years back so I got hit with the $20 late charge! LOL... Put the total at $110.
Yeah, I don't want to jump to conclusions about the renewal fee just yet. I can't remember how much it was back in '05. As is normal, I'll get the thingy in the mail around June. Last year, they mailed it in May, so we'll see.

I hope it's not $120 again, that would really disappoint me.

What plate are you going with? I hate the new blue bar. It's so boring. I guess blue and white was too, but it was a classic! I still have mine in my backseat. I think a lot of others hate it as well because I'm seeing Spectacular Peninsulas everywhere! And I thought I was getting something (in January) that not many would grab. Meh. The ol '93 Sundance was $44. Grr. (However it had astronomical insurance costs and that 2.5L 4 ****** wasn't the friendliest on gas and had WORSE aerodynamics than our Libbys!)

02 Limited, It's cool though, cause it's the only money the state gets from me all year. Hopefully it goes down next year though.
Well, I just talked to my "CFO", I guess I don't know squat about our bills:rolleyes:. We paid about $90 for the KJ, and $25 for the BMW.:^o

Good day,
Here in British Columbia, we don't just renew our "Tag and or inspection renewal". Instead, the Provincially operated "Insurance Corporation of
British Columbia (ICBC) assesses each vehicle owners driving record (ie. the number of accidents, traffic citations, and points/demerits against your drivers license) then takes into account the make' model, and age of the vehicle.

Last December when I insured, registered, and put license plates on our
Liberty the total cost was $1468.38. And that was with a 65% safe drivers
discount! (25 years accident free)
This upcoming December when I renew, it will go up by approximately
$250.00 to $300.00.

Cheers

Ry'

NY goes by the mfg. listed vehicle wt. The KJ is listed on the registration as 3,893lbs and fee is $78. for 2 years. The Cutlass for comparison is listed as 2,977lbs and is $38.50 for 2 years. I'd hate to see what they get for a dump truck.

Someone mentioned $1,200 - wow. But that probably is how they get their sales tax (reg. fee = % of value). In NY they get us for that at initial registration and it's different by county but the average is 7 1/4 % of cost new. So if you bought a $25,000 vehicle you get to pay $1,812.50 + the reg fee the first year.

Anyway you slice it, owning a vehicle costs $$$$$$ no matter what state you're in, and you also have insurance, gas and maintenance, etc. If "they" don't get you one way, "they" will get you another.

Mine is about $400 for my new 2007 here in NV. It will go down as the car depreciates. Yeah, it's high, but I don't pay any state income tax, so I'm still ahead.
