Next wednesday my jeep is going to the muffler shop and getting a magnaflow 14256 installed. its a 5x8 oval shaped polished stainless steel muffler. 18" body and 24" overall. center/offset inlet/outlet. im also having the restriction taken out. should i change the tip or leave the stock tailpipe on? it only cost me $90 from a place called www.performancepeddler.com free shipping. labor will be about 60-70 bucks. im so excited i just peed on the rug.

my bad its actually

www.performancepeddler.com you have to call for pricing. everywhere else sells em around 105-120bucks with the exception of another site which was a hair shy of $100. my digital camera has the capability to record video so i will get a video done of me driving it once it breaks in. it will be up on my myspace and also my photobucket. i hope its gonna be as enjoyable as i think it will be.

Well i got the Magnaflow installed. I think it sounds great. kinda disappointed though because im used to how the exhaust on my neon sounded. i guess i miss the little bit of raspiness that had. but then again a 4 bange rand a V6 are two different animals. The Jeep sounds great though. I'm starting to really like it. deep with no droning. i tried getting some video wiht my digital camera but it doesn't record deep sounds. its funny watching the vids and not hearing the exhaust especially knowing that it was there.

Just drive with the windows down like I did and give it some nice high RPM's while recording... I love the gurggle that it makes when it comes down from high RPM's. .. LOL!! congrats on the purchase though.

I was worried about getting horrible drone with my Zoomers simply because every other maker had drone (especially Magnaflow), but they are probably the only HEMI catback that is just pure nasty roar...and no drone, at all. And at 1500 bucks, I expect nothing less ;)

How's it sound now??
Maybe it's just me but, after a few day's of driving, blowing it out with some high RPM's, my Magnaflow sounded way better than it did when it was first installed!!
Ive had it on for over a year now and it still sound great at, pretty much, any RPM..

I just bought a Magnaflow for my 2007 liberty. I should get it in few days. I cant wait. The 07 Magnaflow was just released so it costs a little more than the previous models. but it wont cost me anything to install it.

I stopped by pep boys last week they had like 10 different magnaflow stuff there.. The guy over there said "they are all the same" I said OK and left.

I wouldn't mind getting something that sounds low and vrooooomy, but I would have to get what exactly another KJ'er got so there are no problems. Fatso's setup sounds great. Can you post a link to exactly which one you got?

magnaflow 14256 www.performancepeddler.com go to their website and call the phone number and tell them thats what you want to order. get your exhaust shop to cut it before the flange to get rid of the restriction and mount the new muffler as close ot the engine as possible and then add a new 2.5" pipe from the back side of the magnaflow to the stock piping left from the stock muffler to the back bumper. the magnaflow is a lot shorter than the stocker. i am already seeing improvements in my gas mileage but not sure exactly because for the third time i blew an O2 sensor. i also have been heavier on the gas to hear the exhaust tones as well so i imagine the mileage will be even better when i calm down on the go peddle. i will know for sure on my gains in mileage after the new O2 sensor gets put in. next up will be a ram air intake.

Forgive a silly question, but just what is it that a "Magnaflow" is supposed to do, anyway? Does it improve performance and/or gas mileage or is it just some sort of perceived "sound enhancement"?
