After installing the Rusty's 2.5" lift on my Liberty, I felt the need to do something to compensate for the elevated CG. It didn't look quite right either. I think I came upon the solution after surfing on several 4X4 based websites and checking out other 4WD rigs around town. Bottom line is I ordered some 1.25" (2.5 overall) aluminum wheel adaptors. I'm thinkin" this will address both of my concerns. Anyone else use these?

Looks like it has to pee.... The spacers worked nicely. How reliable are they though?

I guess only time will tell, but they're very beefy units and a nice piece of machined alum. This type of wheel adaptor bolts to the original studs, then the wheel itself bolts to the studs on the adaptor. I probably shouldn't use the term "spacer" in referring to these guys. The spacers many use are just that, a piece of round aluminum which simply goes between the wheel and the hub. These usually have random patterns of holes so as to fit many bolt patterns. Trouble is you lose much of your thread length to the spacer and wind up bolting your wheels on out near the very ends of the studs. At any rate, I first saw these on the Rocky Road Outfitters site so I'm assuming they're suitible and rugged enough for off-road use. Again time will tell. Now, you'll have to excuse me as I have to go pee.

I'd suggest Spidertrax spacers. Same type of design, but adonized to help protect against corrosion. They've been given excellent reviews by Rockcrawler and JP magazines. And they are only $99 a pair from northridge4x4.com. When you buy a set of 4, shipping is free. So $199 shipped. That's a deal. They used to be $150 a pair but they have dropped the prices recently to compete with the cheap knockoffs that have hit eBay. I guess Rocky Road hasn't. I just ordered a set Thursday for my KJ.

Wow at the first picture, it looked pretty odd.
I wanted to get some sort of spacers to get wider tires but I thought it would give me problems later on, especially at full turns at corners etc.

Will put a different load on your wheel bearings and it pulls the whole wheel out where in the larger diameters it may now strike the pinchweld, air dam and outer edge of the flares more during reverse tight turns or at full stuff or both. The positive side is that it now the wheel/tires won't hit the inner suspension parts as easily if they were dragging on the swaybar or something before.

length of factory wheel studs / will 1.0" spacers work?

anyone know if 1.0" spacers will work with '04 factory alooy wheels, WITHOUT grinding the tips of the factory studs?

or does anyone know the exposed length of the factory wheel studs?

DO NOT USE THESE
they are bad
get some QUALITY units if any

I was left with no choice after ordering tires and then mounting them on factory rims only to find out that they are MUCH bigger than the tire MFG stated
Spend the money on a unit that is hubsentric ,they must have a lip on them for the center of the wheel to go over other wise all the load is on the studs
and also you could end up with a wheel off center

also keep in mind that spacers on a KJ will cause more problems then they will solve
we have 245/75's on OE wheels and only get very slight rub when backing up and turned to full lock ,and now that the tires/plastic has worn down we get no rub
Thinking that you are helping the center of gravity by moving the wheels out
with wheel spacer is like thinking it is ok to piss out the window doing 50
yeah sure you can do it but it will still get on the car
yeah the wheels will move out but you will have changed the point at which it rolls by maybe 1 or 2* at best ,if it is going to roll it is going to do it with or with out spacers
I have rolled my TJ ,well technically my wife flopped it once and I got a little close to the ground
we had to pull it back up when she laid it down I was able to back up
and after doing that I can tell you that spacer would have done nothing

get Spidertrax or nothing at all, do not go grinding on wheel studs they are that lenghth for a reason
I ran spiders for 2000 miles and removed them and got wheels that had a better back spacing ,

If you don't mind me asking, why? Did you have any problems with the spacers?

40 lug nuts and also don't like the look from behind with the tire/wheel sitting another 1.25 inches out, lower rear shock mount looks like it is hanging out there in the middle of no where. Great to catch a rock with even more

and the fact they are illegal in most places.

luckily for me I live in Louisiana and even better N.O.
I can get a "brake tag" on my TJ
all you need is working lights ,if they are there they must work but if you remove the third brake light then it is not there
wipers
horn
$10

I have spacer ,a cracked wind shield, tires out past the flare
no rear view mirror show up with no doors and still get a tag
