Do you mean the indash 6 disc or the cargo area mounted one?

if in-dash one, 3 years, 28k on it, everyday constantly switching etc, so far not a single problem, knocking on wood. Sounds great, changes fast, and no skips whatsoever, only a bit sissy when it comes to cheap 1cent CD-Rs because of the dye they use.. :)

Mine has the cargo mounted 6 disc becuase thats what the one at the dealer had so I ended up with it. I've been happy with it, theres just the fact that you cant easily switch out cds while on the road or when you've got stuff in the back. I've had two instances where the head unit stopped detecting the 6 disc, but as soon as I turned off the Jeep and turned it back on, it was fine.

I had the in-dash 6 CD and steering wheel controls... it was great. 6 CDs gave me enough selection to where I didn't even think about upgrading to an MP3 or aux player. I actually really miss that in my new jeep... a factory single CD with no MP3 compatibility ***** big time.

I have the 6 cd changer in-dash unit with the steering wheel controls and I love it. Havn't had any problems with it.

If you don't have it and now find that you miss it you could consider the mopar ipod installation like grogie mentioned. This would seem to be a good alternative

I have never messed with electronics. Do the mopar ipod kits come with good instructions? Everything I've ever bought from mopar has not had the greatest instructions.

Crutchfield is supposed to have very detailed instructions but I'm guessing this sony would be more complicated than the ipod kit. I am not sure because one person told me he had really bad sony experiences. I definatly want to do something.... I need some tunes :)

jackie, I put an Alpine headunit in my truck and I ordered it from Crutchfield. It came with super detailed instructions and didn't take me long to install it. The TJ is much easier to install a new radio in than my truck. I almost didn't need instructions for it, back when I had one.

Just installed the 6 Disc in the back of my Liberty. I have the RB1 Navigation, Steering wheel controls and the Infinity sound system and everything works flawlessly. The unit changes CD's quickly and resumes playing when the car gets turned back on! Highly recommended! Youll love it, I know I do!
