If you look hard enough, you can see the electric fan right under the clutch fan.

why on earth would you use plastic for something as important as a mechanical fan? I understand it for an electric one....but a mechanical one is a little more important....adding that to my list of "stuff i wouldn't have gone cheap with, had I designed the KJ".

I dont have the numbers at hand for crunching, but the reason that a plastic fan is used, is because it has the ability to change shape at higher RPMs.

For whatever reason, it is more efficient that way. Plastic fans are fairly common as aftermarket stock replacements. Of course thats assuming that the fan is slightly pliable which I cant check since I dont have one in my jeep.

I highly doubt its made out of just plain old crap plastic.

I would say google it until your personal curiosity is satisfied and you will probably find lots of good info.
