Best roof basket to buy and where?

I have a 2006 Liberty Sport, and I want to add a roof basket. I'd like one that I can mount some good lights to, but I do not want to spend a fortune.

Any suggestions?

I was looking for the same thing awhile back and ran across a post on lostkjs.com in the fabrication section, that showed a basket built out of schedule 40 pvc. I bult one and modified it to put some lights on and painted it black. It is strong and light weight. I think I got everything to build it for about 80 bucks from home depot.

Cool. Do you have any pictures of what you have done? I may want to throw a tire up there, so I am unsure if PVC will work. How did you latch it to the roof rack?

frascona...I have a suggestion. (whistle) I'm selling my basket. I live about 35 minutes from Lexington. This basket will mount to your Liberty Sport and you could mount lights to it if you wanted and I'm selling it for $40. I could bring it to your house. You won't find another basket for $40 anywhere. And this one has only been used for one month. Do a search online for the BVG adventure rack cargo basket if you want to see what it looks like. Let me know if you are interested.
