I finally got my sirius radio and cd changer installed in my libby. I also gave the stealership one of the artist/title cords because I have an rb1. When I activated my radio, all it says is the channel and nothing else. I'm thinking the stealership installed the wrong wire. Also, the sound quality is awful- when any of the talk radio stations are on, it sounds the quality of a webcast. Could this be due to a loose connection or incorrect install somewhere? (I really hope so...)...so Tuesday it goes back to the stealership so they can do the job right..... #-o

It's my experience that the talk stations tend to have a lower sound quality than the music stations. Perhaps not quite as bad as most webcasts, but far from the quality you might have expected.

For that matter, most of the music channels don't sound great to me. For example, Pure Jazz and Outlaw Country sound good while Hard Attack is barely acceptable to my ears.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people are led to believe that the quality is a lot better than it is, which hurts the chances of them making an informed decision.

Having said all that, I'm very happy with my Sirius because I bought it with the understanding that the sound quality was not "near CD quality" like I heard so many people say.

I suspect your artist cable is installed wrong. I think you need more than just that cable. I think there's an extra "box" that goes in the back near the Sirius receiver.

I had the cd changer installed in the back with my sirius radio and the install kit with the cd changer, so the multiplexer is back there. I think the morons at the stealership weren't paying attention to the supplied artist/song cable I gave them.

I listen to sirius radio frequently at home on dishnetwork, and it comes through my stereo at home cd quality, so I expected the same quality with the car install. Listening to audio is like comparing an mp3 downloaded at 192kbs quality as opposed to 96kbs quality- noticeable and a bit frustrating for myself, who had higher expectations

I thought the Dish Network Sirius sounds pretty good, but for the receivers, you're right about the sound quality not being as good. The stations seem kinda flat to me, even when I turn my bass and treble up. There is still no way I'm getting rid of it and going back to FM though.

How is your sound quality with your sirius radio? Is it as good as fm? I can accept the sound quality of fm, but music on mine doesn't sound even as good as that. Tuesday the stealership gets to install the correct cable that I gave them and maybe make sure everything is hooked up properly.
