I was thinking the same thing after I saw that picture.

Every pic of a wrecked KJ I've seen has one thing in common: the passenger area looks like it held up really well.

That'll buff out

That was my 1st impression: perhaps it took a bash afterwards?

Yeah, whatever it was hit the rear wheel/tire directly. The windows are all in tact, and there is no sign of an impact to the body directly. Looks to me like a small car slammed directly into the rear axle from the side or rear corner.
