I swear when I was cruising here before I bought I read somewhere that the 2005/06 Liberty's with the hitch factory installed also came with the wiring ready in a pigtail under the dash. Now that I am thinking about summer towing I can't find that post but instead here and at LOST I am seeing that you need to search out the brake wires and splice plus go through the firewall for power and ground. Anyone know the answer for sure?

Thanks

behind the lower left kick(?) panel there is a red brake wire hidden there (if you had the factory tow package) the rest of the wires for the BC will have to be run / tapped

also, Instead of drilling through the fire wall I just drilled straight down under the carpet and ran the wires from there. The firewall is just cramed and I didn't want to hit anything.

no harness

The libby absolutely does not come with the pre-wired harness under the dash. Most pickups and various other brands do, but unfortunately for us the Libby doesn't. Would be nice if Jeep caught up with other mfg's on this item...

Should be some pics of the panel in the How-to section under towing.

Next time we get one in at work I'll take pictures of the install, or I'll take some things apart and do one on mine when I have time.

Yeah the brake light switch is the brown/white one going into the harness above the pedal. The brake signal is behind the driver side kick panel in a white plastic box. It's flagged "BRAKE". Power and ground go through the firewall to the battery. Just like they all said. It took me a while to wire mine up.
