I was on my way to school this morning with my Liberty and enjoying the fact that it is thoroughly covered in mud (Pics soon hopefully). There's a green, fairly new Liberty which I pass by everyday. I was thinking nothing of it (Since they never wave), but noticing the mud, they actually waved. I just thought it was kind of cool to get the Jeep wave. I got a lot of looks from other cars on the way too. Hopefully set a good example for the Liberty out here among all of the lifted trucks.

Yeah Saturday when I rolled into the town I work in I was driving up a hill and noticed a KJ coming up behind me. It had some hella's on the front and what looked to be a mini bull bar, when it came up beside me to pass i noticed it had some graphics on the side, as he rolled by me, in my TJ, I gave him the jeep wave and he waved back and seemed pretty stoked to get a jeep wave form a TJ.

Ok these are my first ever jeeps and I don't want to seem ignornat, but what/how do you do a jeep wave? If you only use one finger for it, then I've been unknowingly doing the jeep wave to non-jeepers for years.

Jeep Wave

It would be nice to see KJ drivers wave, but I have never seen one wave at me. When driving my TJ, I get two out of three waves from other TJ's. The ones that don't wave from a TJ are usually chicks.

Here are the rules on the Jeep wave. I just raise my left hand off the steering wheel so it can be seen.

I'll also add that I generally initiate the wave. My wife drove the TJ to work one day, and she had three guys initiate the wave at her. (biggrin)

Well, I'll try to get the wave going here in Phoenix. That's a big task, but one I am willing to attempt. By the way, in my KJs entire history, it has only gotten one wave from a TJ. I am sorry to admit that at the time, however, I was unaware of the Jeep wave and didn't return it. (Forgive me I have sinned). Future Jeep ad campaign maybe? (biggrin)

Here is a friends Muddy Liberty. We belong to the same Jeep Club and this guy is not scared of anything in his Liberty. He has an OME 2.5" Lift with an ARB front bumper. His next plans are more aggressive tires and a better rear bumper when they come out. I blocked his pic so you'll see some bad Photoshop.

I have this kinda "Renny" wave going with a guy I don't know who lives near me. I have my black 05 renny he has a black 04 Renny. We pass each other fairly often in the morning and after a few passes with mutual appreaciative glances, we always jeep wave now. I don't even try the jeep wave with any other KJs I see around town, they usually get really confused and think I think I know them or something....lol.

The Wave

A doctor friend of mine let me test drive his Liberty, which eventually led to my purchase of my Liberty. We use a modified "wave" that has caught on around town with other Jeep owners. Kinda neat to have that kind of unspoken understanding. icon996.gif
