I requested an auto insurance quote from AIG to compare to my expiring policy. They quoted me as follows:

2002 KJ Limited; 2002 WJ Overland

BI Liability: 100/300K
Prop Damage: 100K
PIP: 175,000
UM/UIM: 100/300K
Comp & Collision for both cars: $500 deductible

Grand total 6 month premium $3,123.00

OMFG....I know AIG was embroiled in a scandal with Marsh that caused their stock to plummet & their CEO to resign, but to try to recoup all their losses with one policy is outlandish.

Liberty Mutual currently insures my vehicles for $250/$500 BI & UM with $500 comp & coll ded for $3,614.00 per year

I love my Liberty (Mutual that is).

Move down to Philly!

I'm paying a combined total of $1800 a year for both my 2003 KJ and 2003 Chrysler Sebring.

Insurance rating is a complicated issue that is hard to compare.

Basicly every city/county/state has different base rates. Then it breaks down further as other factors are taken into concideration. Some things taken into concideration are the vehicle brand or type, cost new and age, where it is garaged, the usage (how many miles you drive to work, any business use - etc.) ----- Then your driving record. ---- Is it clean? Do you have a speeding ticket or an accident? How old are you? Any young operators in the household? How many years have you been driving? etc. etc. ----- (i've left out a lot for the sake of being brief and i also do not know all the rating factors in all the different states). They are not all the same. Nether are all the insurance companies. Also - every company has different rating tiers. And any company can be better in one state than another. So.........

To get a valid comparison you would have to get your clone and ask it what it is paying!

The BEST thing to do is --- get quotes from several companies for the exact same coverages and compare them. Then check in your state for the selected insurance companies to see which ones are the best at handeling claims etc.....But don't be too quick to change as some companies will not surcharge you for your first accident if you've been with them for a while. --- Then decide which is best for you.

Yeah, that is about where we are in Cherry Hill, NJ. A 2002 Misubishi Montero Sport and a 2005 Libby, both with full coverage, for around $1,800 per year. NJ used to be high but we had an insurance reform and now we're good. \:D/

I pay in Northern NJ $3800 for a 05 Liberty, 06 Solaras, and a 03 Mustang Mach1 - the Mach cost $1890 a year by itself just for pleasure use.

Up here in MA, I paid $1175 last year for a 2005 Renny. We have all kinds of crazy-ass insurance requirements in this state, so we can't do anything like Geico or any of the companies that advertise on TV. Strangely enough, it was LESS than what I was paying for the P.O.S. '89 Buick Park Avenue I had before! headscratch.gif
