What do you guys think of Liberty's reliability? When my wife and I bought the 05 limited we didnt' know there's such thing as Jeep Liberty. My wife love it very much. We were going to get a stratus but the Liberty caught her eyes and that's all it took.

It's kind of dumb doing the research after buying.... Anyway, just want to get a feel from the owners that's been driving it for a while... Thanks!

Seems overall very good. On mine, I've had it for about 18 months and not a single problem (although it's only got 11k on it).

I've had mine for 13 months, and 16,500 miles. It's just been in for oil changes, and to replace some defective anti-sway bar bushings.

I did the same thing, i went to get a hemi ram, but didnt feel like waiting on ordering one, so i got the libby. You probably will not have a problem out of it. The only problems we hear of is people 4 wheeling them and breaking things. But i will say that people are having some problems out of the tranamissions on the 05's, its covered under warranty though, so dont worry about it. Read around and see what all u can find. 16k on mine and good so far!

Over all, mine's been pretty damn reliable. Yeah, there've been a couple fluke things that have popped up (overheating and stalling), but both have been fixed quite courtiously and promptly by the dealer. I'm a very happy Jeep owner for life now!

Stupid minor things that have been corrected under warranty:

- Rear brake moan (TSB) now fixed after two attempts.
- Rear seatbelt jammed on first use.
- Rear flipper glass did not completely open when using remote. Now it works most of the time.

Not enough problems to interfere with the love affair.

I got a used '02 liked it so much we got an '05 (which con$umer reports has down as a best buy). Pushing 65K on the '02 (got it at 40K) and so far break pads in the front, tires, oil changes and a battery.

Well at least he didn't call it a car. My wife always calls it a car. [-( It's much closer to a truck than it is a car. In fact, if it had a frame rail chassis like the Wrangler it would be a truck. But yeah, JEEP always works!

Melted, what was the cause? Thx.

The repair order states they adjusted the latch. It still sticks occasionally however, particularly these cold mornings. After the sun has been beating on it for a while, it seems to work fine.

I bought mine in May 2004 and it has been great. I have taken it over the rockies a few times and in the snow.. never had a problem.
