Ok, so here is a couple videos from that day. If you have read my post "That sound can't be good" in general discussion you will have a better idea of what was going on.
It's funny how video never does an incline justice! Anyway, the incline is steeper than it looks and the gravel is super loose. The first video is me going up no probs...the second video is me testing my tires to see how slow I could go and...well, watch under my Jeep as I stop.

That's pretty comical actually, but *****. At least you could just stop here and slide the spring back in.

Actually, what lift are you running? Personally I would just recommend some new rear springs. Such as the skyjackers or OME. I know its not right to have to buy new ones already, but it will probably be the quickest and easiest fix. I think the skyjackers are about 140 and the OME are 120. Limiting straps would work but they limit flex and would be a pain to fab up.

Looks like the lift manufactor used too short of a spring. Most of the lift was achieved with just increasing the spring rate not increasing the lenght of the spring. Get longer springs so they stay seated.

Just curious on what shocks your are running also. Dosen't look like they give more flex than the Rancho RSX17004 and those keep my OME coils nice and snug with tons of flex. So it seems as if the spring is just too short.

Well I contacted BDS and this was their reply:

Daniel:

I had not ever heard of this before so I turned it over to Engineering for
an answer to this. They found that the rear shock box number was correct but
the shock cylinder that was in the box was wrong compared to the cylinder
used when they did R&D. The shock you received was 4.25" to long extended.
This is were the problem came from. The Shock cylinder has been switched on
the bill of materials and we are building them correctly today thanks to
your E-Mail. I will be getting a hold of North Shore Off Road to get some
of these shocks added to there next order so they can Warranty them to you.
Talk to Glenn @ North Shore when you ask about this warranty.

Thank You
David

So hopefully the new shocks will fix the problem. Just thought I would keep you all up to date.

So the shock was boxed incorrectly, ended up being too long and therefore extends too far so the spring falls out.

Well... $hit happens, and kudos to them for getting you a replacement under warranty. =D> That's the kind of service we all want/need from a company.
