That sound can't be good?

I had my Liberty out near my house for some fun time. I was in 4-low climbing a rutted gravely incline...pretty steep even though the video doesn't make it look so...anyway, I had trouble getting up one of my runs so I put it in reverse to back down when there was a sound...twisting snapping sound is the best way I can describe it! When I got out and looked underneath I fully expected to see fluid spewing out. But there was none. So a little later with a buddy I went back out and in a similar situation got the same sound. Is this normal? In the the year I have had my jeep this was the first time I had her in low.

you mention a video in your orig. post. Perhaps you can take another video and try to get the "twisting" sound on video for us to hear?

Yup its on video but you can't hear it very well off the camera...maybe once I put it on my computer it will be more distinguishable? I will see if I can figure out how to attach a link to a video one of these nights and post it.

I posted on LOST as well and a member said it may have just been tension in the driveline being released...here's to hoping (Cheers)

Did you take a sharp turn? Maybe then yes, just tension. My wife said she had a loud bang when she took a couple of sharp turns in part-time on a wet road. [-X Baby, full-time, full-time, lol. That's why we have selec-trac!

Ok, I have put my video on my computer now and you can hear the sound quite clearly. If I knew how to link to a video I would do so...may have to recruit a computer buddy. Anyway, and this may be a long explanation. I actually had another issue when I was out wheeling. Believe it or not one of my rear springs fell out (Aeh) I am not kidding, I even have it on tape. I am running up a hill and I am going through some ruts...my KJ is fully flexed at the drs. rear and clear as day you can see the spring just plop out on the ground! Sooooooo, when looking at my video I think the sound I hear was my spring either snapping into or out of place? Thats what I think anyway :-k
When I put it back in tonight I checked and my shock has way too much travel and when fully flexed my spring is able to just plop out!

I definately wanna see this video now. Shoot a PM over to Bennett or Jon and they can probably help yuo get it uploaded. Finding it hard to believe the spring just popped right out, KJ's are much tougher than that.
