In Comparison to other vehicles I've had in the past, my wipers seem slow even at the fastest setting. Where I live we get some pretty heavy rain and I often find that they just don't clear the windshield fast enough. does anyone else share this problem and know if there is a way to modify them to work faster by using an aftermarker wiper motor or something?

thanks ahead of time...

I agree. Mine seem a little better than average for the vehicles I've owned / driven. It makes me wonder if there's not something holding your wiper motor back? Or if there's not a slight short in the power going to the wiper motor? :-k

what year is your libby? the other guys that replied have 04's. I wonder if the 03's had a different motor. It doesn't seem like anything is wrong with my wipers like a short or anything, they just do do the job when it rains really hard. I will have to inquire about the 04 vs 03's. mine's an 03.

thanks..

ok thanks. sounds like the problem is all mine. I'll have to get two libby's side by side and compare.

you could always try rain X. Usually I don't even need the wipers when i put that stuff on, works great.

here is the video

wipers on hi

i feel like i am drunk watching my wiper blades in a cool place like NYC.....when i am only in sioux city,IA

hey thanks alot for the video. I think my wipers are the same... maybe I just have really high expectations for my wipers or I just get a shitload of rain here. when it rains it pours.

thanks again! I still wanna modify mine to move faster. gonna see if I can find an aftermarket motor for it...

I'll 3rd the Rain-X. Amazing stuff! Don't even need the wipers driving down the road. Only need them briefly while sitting at a light or something. The faster you go the faster the water rolls off....lol.

As far as the speed go, i've got an 03 and they move at the same speed Jon's do.

I will x5 the rain-x. Drove the Libby home from the dealer, of coares the LONG way. Parked it in the garage, check it out, then applied the rain-x as my first mod to her. \:D/

Every truck I have had in last 10 years had rain-x on it.

It's good stuff, but how long does it last for you guys before you have to reapply? It seems like it wears off pretty fast in my experience.

Well it all depends. Depends on how much rain you drive in, how often you use the wipers with rain-x on the windshield. Since I use Steel Whool to clean my windows every time I wash my Jeep (once a week or so) it comes off quicker than it should. But I dont mind re applying. It helps keep the bug goo to a minimum (except fer dem big ole fat juicy ones you could make dinner out of!!!!!!!) and makes it easier to wash. So time frame for me, roughly every 3 weeks or so.
